The Radiation Protection Committee’s mission encompasses:
- Promoting radiation protection for the well-being of patients, staff, and the environment.
- Collaborating with other EANM committees and partners to develop guidance and resources for optimised radiation protection in nuclear medicine procedures (e.g., radiation protection measures in theranostic procedures).
- Engaging with EU agencies, legislative bodies and international organisations responsible for radiation protection (e.g., EURADOS, EURAMED, IAEA, ICRP, IRPA, MELODI, etc.).
- Organising scientific and educational activities.

The Executive Office is the referral centre to which questions and requests of any kind may be addressed. The Office answers these directly where applicable or passes them on to the relevant EANM officer.
