Educational objectives:

  1. Identify and use the most appropriate imaging protocol for a specific patients and according to the clinical question.
  2. Provide an update on the upcoming softwares and technology, and identify possible applications and limitations.
  3. Provide an insight on the use of hybrid imaging in specific populations of patients with cardiac disease.
  4. Adopt knowledge and techniques to improve the diagnostic accuracy of myocardial perfusion imaging.

Summary:

This continuing education session is directed toward physicians, trainees and technologist interested in the practice of nuclear cardiology. It will cover state-of-the art protocols and technology and will provide a view on upcoming methodologies. By providing an overview on relevant practical aspects of the different imaging acquisition protocols and reconstruction software, this session will provide the audience the basis for an optimization of nuclear cardiology laboratories and an improvement in the diagnostic accuracy and prognostic capability.
