A. Saraste (Turku):
Hybrid PET/CT Imaging of Coronary Artery Disease
L. Lezaic (Ljubljana):
Clinical Applications and Procedures of PET in Cardiology
C. Marcassa (Veruno):
Rubidium-82 in Cardiological PET

Educational objectives:

Upon completion of this session the attendee will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the clinical usefulness of nuclear cardiology in its most relevant applications.
  2. Learn about PET (PET/CT) as a clinical tool in patients with cardiovascular disease.
  3. Provide an update on the use of rubidium-82 as a perfusion tracer.
  4. Provide an overview of the assessment of cardiac perfusion with Rb82 and PET in
patients with ischemic heart disease and identify pro and cons.
  5. Adopt knowledge and techniques for accurate quality control, to improve the diagnostic
accuracy of myocardial PET perfusion imaging.

Summary:

This continuing education session is directed towards nuclear medicine technologists and trainees interested in performance and interpretation of clinical nuclear cardiology studies. It will cover relevant practical aspects of the clinical use of different PET radiopharmaceuticals for cardiovascular nuclear imaging according to latest imaging methodology.

It will also cover state-of-the art protocols and technology of Rb82 PET imaging in patients with ischemic heart. By providing an overview of relevant practical aspects of the different imaging acquisition protocols, this session will provide the audience with the basis for optimization of Rb82 PET imaging in nuclear cardiology laboratories.
