Nuclear medicine: targeted treatment of lung cancer

Lung and bronchial tumours are among the most common and most dangerous forms of cancer in Europe. As part of a Germany-wide study sponsored by the Deutsche Krebshilfe (German Cancer Aid), nuclear medicine physicians are now collaborating with radiooncologists to combat lung cancer more effectively and with less strain on patients by using positron emission tomography (PET).
