The EANM Inflammation & Infection Committee is in charge of:
- Developing and disseminating guidelines, recommendations and position papers on nuclear medicine techniques for infection and inflammation.
- Providing an evidence-based framework for the rational use of imaging in infection and inflammation.
- Developing and strengthening collaborations with other scientific and clinical societies.
- Supporting the healthcare community in delivering optimal patient care.
- Providing education and training programmes/courses for physicians with interest in infection and inflammation imaging.
- Catalysing developments in molecular imaging and advanced imaging techniques applicable to inflammation and infection imaging (e.g., new clinical indications, novel and more specific radiopharmaceuticals for infection).

The Executive Office is the referral centre to which questions and requests of any kind may be addressed. The Office answers these directly where applicable or passes them on to the relevant EANM officer.
